What Would a Safe Coming Out Experience Be Like?

What would a safe coming out experience look and sound like? 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ 6th grade humanities students asked themselves this question while reading The Misfits by James Howe in which one of the main characters comes out as gay to his friends. After reading the chapter, students transformed their ideas into comics showing a scene in which one person safely comes out as a member of the LGBTQIPA+ community to a friend or family member. We love their visions for a world where we can all feel safe and affirmed in our beautiful identities!
