2025 Spring Fundraiser

Y2K Party & Move-a-thon 2025 – We Did It!

Congratulations Prospect Sierra!

We did it — our incredible community came together and raised an astounding $200,000 through our three impactful fundraising events:

  • Silent Auction & Y2K Party: An astounding $160,000+ raised in a single weekend! The fund-a-need portion alone generated a whopping $74,000 from generous donors committed to transforming our outdoor spaces!
  • Color Run Move-a-thon: Students and families brought unbelievable energy, raising over $40,000 across both campuses! (The elementary campus delivered an impressive $34,000+, while our middle school campus beat their record from last year with over $11,000!)

THANK YOU all — parents, caregivers, students, faculty, staff, grandparents, family members, and friends of PS — for your generosity and unstoppable spirit! Together, we’re building outdoor learning environments that will inspire students for generations to come! It takes a village to make this happen — thank you to all of our PS community members who really added the magic!

Moving Ahead: Playground Construction & Avis Upper Hillside Initiative Planning

With a successful spring fundraiser season under our belt, we’re thrilled to announce that we have raised the funds to begin construction of Phase 1- Grizzly Hill (Tapscott Playground), assuming the permitting process allows us to begin this summer. As we actively work through the permitting process and finalize plans with the City of El Cerrito, this project represents an important step forward for our community, and we remain hopeful that the permitting process will go smoothly, allowing us to begin construction this summer. Thank you to Steve Harrington, our Director of Facilities, who has been leading this project for the last few years.

Watch this video about how this playground will make an impact!

Rest assured, our beloved Summer Program will proceed as planned with all its customary activities and excitement. We look forward to another season of memorable experiences for all participants.

Vincent Medina and Louis Trevino of Cafe Ohlone, attended our Y2K Party & Silent Auction, where they shared a vision of partnering with our school to create a space of learning and respect for the original use of the Avis Upper Hillside land by the Ohlone People. We are excited to continue collaborating and initiating the next steps on planning with them.

Thank you for being incredible partners along the way — it is the power of the collective of our PS community that makes these initiatives possible!

You are still welcome to give to these initiatives if you haven’t done so by donating here! Have questions, please contact development@prospectsierra.org.
