Sebastian Bates

Sebastian Bates, Middle School Librarian and 6th Grade Advisor, was born and raised in San Francisco and Oakland. He grew up visiting his family in Colombia every summer, even attending school there for a year in 7th grade. He studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, where he pursued a BFA with an emphasis on new genres. It was through teaching art that he discovered his passion for education, leading him to teach and assist in various subjects and age groups over the years. His hobbies include reading, listening to and playing music, thrifting, and bike riding.
