Rebecca Jelen

Rebecca Jelen, Middle School Head Librarian and 5th Grade Advisor, has taught for more than 25 years in schools throughout California, and was most recently a middle school librarian in Marin County. She believes in making the library a place that is warm, welcoming, and fun for everyone on campus. Rebecca is an avid reader of books for both middle schoolers and adults, and loves spending time with her family traveling or walking through the hills of Berkeley with her dogs, cooking, and of course, reading. Rebecca firmly believes that students need to see themselves represented in literature, and also experience new places, cultures, and experiences through their reading in order to build a better world.
