Kyla Danysh

K-1st Spanish Teacher

Kyla Danysh, K-1st Spanish Teacher, is a Berkeley native and lifelong musician who brings her  love of music and languages to her teaching. Certified in the  Orff-Schulwerk approach, she believes in integrating student voice,  movement and creativity in the classroom. After studying French in high  school and university, she became fluent by living abroad in Toulouse and teaching in Martinique. Her knowledge of the Spanish language was cultivated through almost two decades of studying and performing different genres of Mexican music, as well as Afro-Peruvian music, as a violinist and singer. For the past nine years, Kyla has taught music classes in Spanish at Escuela Bilingue Internacional. When Kyla is not teaching, playing music or coaching, you can likely find her near a body of water, planning her next trip to the Eastern Sierra, or sauteeing mushrooms in her kitchen.
