Karen Lara
Interim Bilingual Spanish Teacher and 7th grade Advisor
Karen Lara, Interim Bilingual Spanish Teacher and 7th grade Advisor, started learning her first foreign language in middle school. She took French from 6th grade all throughout high school, and continued it at UCSC while also learning Italian and Portuguese. Karen graduated from UCSC with a BA in sociology and Italian studies. She continued her education with an MA in teaching from Santa Clara University. As a Mexican-American, Karen loves sharing her culture with her students and exploring the beautiful diversity within the Hispanic speaking world. In her free time she loves being with her family and friends, listening to Spanish music, and traveling to new places.
