8th Grade Math Teacher and Advisor
James Castañeda, 8th Grade Math Teacher and Advisor, has been teaching middle and high school math since 2012. Most recently, while working with high school students, he also served as the adult mentor for both the Latine Affinity Group and Davis Scholar program. Before entering the classroom, James worked across diverse industries—including tax law, wine production, and financial management—giving him a strong appreciation for the real-world relevance of math. Outside of school, he enjoys staying active, whether training in his garage gym or spending time outdoors. James earned his BA from Brown University and his master’s in education from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
