Check Out Our Tapscott Visibility Board!

InstagramNews October 3, 2025

Have you seen our Tapscott Visibility Board? Designed to highlight events and stories that are often underrepresented, this space invites our community to see the learning that our students engage in, builds upon our curriculum, and encourages participation by all.

October’s theme is Indigenous land and how we might honor it in our own lives. Students were invited to contribute to the board and this morning our TK group added their drawings and words. Then they went on a short acorn hunt and learned about the importance of this nut in local Indigenous life.

Ellis wrote: “Take care of the water. The water needs to be clean so that berries can grow for people and animals.”

Lucas wrote: “Say thank you to the flowers, the sky, the trees, the creek, the dirt.”

Thank you to our TK teacher, Whendy Costa, for organizing this month’s board!

Stop by and take a look the next time you’re on campus! You might learn about winter light festivals such as Diwali and Hannukah, Black History Month, Lunar New Year, spring observances such as Ramadan or Passover, Pride, AAPI Heritage Month, and more!
