Annual 2nd Grade Special Person Celebration
Our 2nd graders recently held their Special Person celebration, an event showcasing a project focused on the “special people” in their lives. They started by interviewing someone two generations older than them. Then, they did a series of activities that helped them think deeply about the similarities and differences between them and their special people. These activities included a water-colored poem, portrait, Venn diagram, and even a brief biography. Finally, on the day of the celebration, each child brought their special person’s favorite dish to share. The final event was complete with food, conversation, and community connection. 🎨🫶
