Arry Kaur

Arry Kaur, Middle School Dean of Students, joins Prospect Sierra after serving as Director of Equity and Inclusion/Social Studies Teacher at Maybeck High School in Berkeley for five years. Arry moved to the Bay Area from New York City, where she’s originally from, in 2021. She has her BA in childhood education and MS in special education from Pace University. She began her career teaching 1st grade at Harlem Village Academies in East Harlem before teaching 2nd grade at Citizens of the World Charter School in Brooklyn. Arry then spent three years as a middle school teacher and co-chair of the DEI Committee at The Gateway School in Manhattan before moving to California. She loves working with young people and fostering a love of learning but also empathy, compassion, joy, and connection. Arry lives in Alameda with her partner and her dog and enjoys challenging herself with new hobbies, like weightlifting, running and ceramics, along with reading, cooking, being near bodies of water, and watching horror and thriller films/shows.
