7th Grade Mathematicians Tackle Scale and Contemplate Space
7th grade mathematicians have been learning about scale using the Apollo Lunar Module, the only crewed vehicle to land anywhere beyond Earth!
For the culminating problem of their first unit, they formed cooperative groups and figured out the actual height of the spacecraft by working from a scale model. Then students measured and calculated how they would need to scale themselves to add themselves to the image. Would YOU want to squeeze yourself on board?
