4th Graders Take On Sacramento and See the Eclipse!

InstagramNews April 20, 2024

4th graders’ trip to Sacramento was a memorable one! The day started with an insightful tour of the state capitol. Students learned about the governors’ portraits, the liberties artists took when painting and tiling the capitol, and a thorough history of how the capitol ended up in Sacramento.

We used our eclipse glasses to witness the remarkable solar eclipse, and lunch was enjoyed on the north lawn of the capitol building.

Assembly member Buffy Wicks (@asmbuffywicks) met our 4th graders and asked our students to share their ideas for new laws. Later, our 4th graders were introduced by Buffy Wicks inside the Assembly chambers during a live session!

Lastly, we raced down the stairs to meet State Senator Nancy Skinner (@senatorskinner), who inspired us by her passion for gender equality. Ask our 4th graders how Senator Skinner feels about the NBA versus the WNBA!
