4th Grade Resistance Museums
Every year around this time, our 4th graders study Indigenous resistance past and present. Students use articles and book excerpts to research topics like the Indigenous occupation of Alcatraz, the removal of mission bells in Santa Cruz, and ways Indigenous folks resisted during the mission period.
Our researchers create artwork and narratives to illustrate their findings, then transform their classroom into a Resistance Museum. Here they are proudly sharing their learning with our community!
