3rd Graders Kick Off Elementary Drama Productions
Through their acting and singing, the 3rd graders shared the beauty, importance, and magic of trees, highlighting their deep connection to us and our indigenous ancestors in our first play of the year!
This original production, written and directed by drama teacher Matt with musical direction by Kelly, was closely tied to the 3rd grade curriculum across all classrooms. Homeroom and specialist teachers worked together to enhance the performance, incorporating Spanish, sign language, and rich details about California native species such as bay laurels and live oaks.
Students opened and closed the performance with music, crafting soundscapes evoking nature and incorporating sign language into their final song. Every play takes a village, and it was a joy to see this one come to life!
