2nd Grade Lego Design Challenge
Move over, Pinewood Derby; 2nd graders are in the midst of a Lego car design challenge! Colab teacher Gil has pushed his students to design the fastest, farthest rolling iteration of a Lego car possible. With each gravity-driven test run down a ramp, student pairs must troubleshoot and innovate to make their vehicles more efficient.
Basic mechanics such as force, motion, balance, and friction are at play as children learn how these principles affect the design and performance of their vehicles. Along the way, students are learning to hypothesize, collect and analyze data, and engineer Legos to their full potential!
