2nd Annual Community Iftar

On Saturday night, nearly 100 adults and children gathered as a community to celebrate the 2nd Annual Prospect Sierra Community Iftar hosted by our Muslim families. We focused on the intercultural and universal symbol of light, learned about the Ramadan traditions honoring light with pictures from our families’ celebrations from around the world, and considered our own light inside of us and where and how we want to share it with our communities. The children created colorful lanterns to accompany the lanterns on the tables, and we appreciated these bright lights shining while we shared food together after sundown.
