Spanish Teacher and 7th Grade Advisor
Vivian Ponte-Fritz, Spanish Teacher and 7th grade advisor, is an Oakland native who grew up speaking Spanish at home. She joins us after teaching in Mexico as a 1st grade teacher. She spent two years as an assistant teacher at our elementary campus while getting her master’s degree in education from the Bay Area Teacher’s Training Institute. She has a BA in media studies and art from Pitzer College where she studied educational media for social change in Cuba and Mexico. She has worked in many restaurant kitchens and feels passionate about the ways language, culture, and food connect us all.
