Maria Montes Clemens
Maria Montes Clemens, Elementary School Spanish Teacher, arrived at Prospect Sierra in the fall of 2014 from Park Day School in Oakland, CA. In her classroom she uses TPR Storytelling (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling), a method of language education that employs a mixture of reading and storytelling to help students overcome the barriers of learning a foreign language. Maria has a BA in kinesiology from UC Berkeley and a MA in kinesiology from Sonoma State University. She’s the mother of two and lives in El Cerrito with her husband. Her hobbies include hot yoga, gardening, knitting and spending time with her three yorkies.
