Middle School Spanish Teacher / 8th Grade Advisor
Mafe Duarte, Spanish Teacher and Eighth Grade Advisor, is an experienced Spanish teacher and translator, who has worked in elementary, middle, and high school settings at well-known independent schools around the Bay Area. Most recently, Mafe has taught sixth through eighth grade Spanish, while serving as a seventh grade advisor at Marin Country Day School. Mafe shares that she was called to teach early in life and has worked with languages throughout her professional career. Additionally, she credits her pursuit of holistic health and the healing arts for enriching and deepening her teaching. Mafe is currently enrolled in Waldorf Teacher Training with a graduation date in 2018. Mafe holds a BA in modern languages and socio-cultural studies with a minor in literature studies from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Columbia, her native homeland.
