Capital Campaign Update

September 2005

Hello from the Capital Campaign!! Many of you may remember the exciting news we had to share regarding our school’s receipt of a $500,000 grant from the Wayne and Gladys Valley Foundation towards Prospect Sierra’s first-ever capital campaign. We have since then continued our visits with families to share further details about this project and to ask for their support in the construction of art, music, drama, and world language classrooms on the middle school campus. The Capital Campaign Steering Committee has been working hard and we are now halfway to our $4 million goal!! We enthusiastically look forward to spending time with more of you to discuss this important project, as the success of this campaign is dependent on everyone’s heartfelt participation.

While we continue to raise the balance of the funds needed for the whole project, we are happy to announce that we received enough contributions from early donors to complete the first phase of construction this past summer. Room 2 on the Avis Campus has been transformed into two dedicated world language rooms for our school. These much desired spaces will make a tremendous difference this year for our middle school world language learners. Teachers can also better pool resources and add new dimensions to the middle school world language curriculum with these added rooms.

We are happy to share the news of this much awaited, first step towards the implementation of the final phase of our school’s master campus plan. We look forward to sharing further news about our campaign as the year progresses. As always, feel free to contact any of us on the steering committee, or the development office, if you have any questions.
