We've been doing some really hard work in terms of writing thesis statements for paragraphs in humanities and essays in writing. Suddenly 6th grade is getting hard!! But the work is rewarding. 6S has been coming up with deep and thoughtful ideas about both Ancient Sumer and the things important in their own lives. Well done sixth grade!

It was great to be back in class today. I was really pleased with the work students completed while I was away. 6S, you are clearly becoming skilled researchers. I can't wait to see how you apply those skills to your research project on an ancient civilization.

6S was focused and determined in its work today. We started the day by developing questions to guide our research on Sumer and examining books that will help us with that research. Later in the day we answered some hard questions about why we write and read a difficult couple of chapters in The Misfits.
