Homework:

I won't be posting homework here until students get used to using the homework planner to record assignments. Students have gotten homework in humanities, writing, math, science and world language so far this week.

News and notes:

Welcome to the BLOG! I hope this will be an easy way to find out what's happening in 6S. Today we started writing workshop by telling stories. We also started reading our literature book together, The Misfits by James Howe. One big thing we'll be learning this year is how to read thoughtfullly and deeply. The Misfits is a great book to start with because it is funny and touching and smart. I hope 6S enjoys it.

We also started talking about our Sustainable World. We are considering how to survive in a place making choices that don't negatively affect other people, animals or plants. It should be an adventure.
