news and notes 9/16/08

Homework:

I won't be posting homework until everyone gets in the habit of recording it on there own. I will mention, however, that I gave homework in humanities and writing. In addition, everyone should be reading 20 minutes a night 4 nights a week.

News and notes:

Today we said goodbye to 6B who began their grand adventure at Live Power Community Farm. We also delved further into our sustainable worlds, looking closing at how to start a fire with a stick and some tinder. Tomorrow we'll continue researching other skills and tools that will be useful on our homestead.

Joke of the Day:

A city slicker moves to the country and decides he's going to take up farming. He heads to the local co-op and tells the man, "Give me 100 baby chickens." The co-op man complies. A week later the man returns and says, "Give me 200 baby chickens." The co-op man complies. Again, a week later the man returns. This time he says, "Give me 500 baby chickens." "Wow!" the co-op man replies. "You must really be doing well!" "Naw," said the man with a sigh. "I'm either planting them too deep or too far apart!"
