Today, Macabe, Michael, Stephen, Babak, Cliff and I spent the day at the Star Route Farm in Bolinas, just north of Stinson Beach. It was amazing to be on a farm after all we've learned, our discussions and research. Though it was mucky and muddy we picked radishes, rainbow chard, dino kale and lettuce. Macabe looked like he especially enjoyed eating the radishes as we walked through the farm. And so what if they were a little dirty. To quote Babak, "Dirt don't hurt!" We could be especially sure of that since we knew all about their soil fertilization and pest control. Everything was organic. No chemicals at all!
