Homework

Reading and Writing: 15 Minutes of each daily.

Writing notebooks will be collected on
Mondays for Table 5
Tuesdays for Table 1
Wednesdays for Table 2
Thursdays for Table 3
and Fridays for Table 4.

Bring your reading book Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
* Finished Final Draft to share during our Writing Celebration!! Don't forget to complete the editing check list.

Math:

5 minutes of math facts practice daily.
Estimation, due every Thursday.
Stumper (optional), due whenever you get unstumped.
Problem Solving, due every Monday.


Humanities: Reread Farmfolks handout. Write selected questions in your writer's notebook with space for answers, due the day of your Farm Field Trip.

Science: *Nutrition Facts Label, due Monday 10/16.

Happy Friday the 13th!!! (ghoulish laughter)

Angela, Zoe and May returned from the Sunol Agpark with a bounty of fruits and vegetables, including the biggest cucumbers I have ever seen.

No one has give me a joke to put up so I'm taking the liberty of doing it myself. Here goes:

There were two guys working for the city. One would dig a hole -- he would dig, dig, dig.
The other would come behind him and fill the hole -- fill, fill, fill. These two men worked furiously; one digging a hole, the other filling it up again.
A man was watching from the sidewalk and couldn't believe how hard these men were working, but couldn't understand what they were doing. Finally he had to ask them.
He said to the hole digger, "I appreciate how hard you work, but what are you doing? You dig a hole and your partner comes behind you and fills it up again!"
The hole digger replied, "Oh yeah, must look funny, but the guy who plants the trees is sick today."
