What a great way to start the day. We visited Tapscott and the first graders. They were great hosts and 6S were kind and warm-hearted big brothers and sisters to them. It was nice to see you all share the books you've worked so hard on with the first graders. I know they really appreciated it.

News and notes:

Yesterday students got reintroduced to each other as reading buddies. This year there are as many groups of 3 as there are groups of 2. I hope working in 3s will help students to get to know each other in a different way and share their interests in books.

I returned the personal narratives students completed before we went to the farm. I looked at a variety of things as I read the narratives. These were the stories, as well as mechanics and the process of writing. It was so fascinating to get to know you through your stories!

Joke of the Day:

Why did the man freeze his money?
He wanted cold, hard cash.
