La mousse au chocolat

Yesterday in French class, 5th graders made "la mousse au chocolat". CATASTROPHE! The experience turned out quite funny as the warm melted chocolate turned into a hard blob. It was impossible to blend into the stiff egg whites, so beautifully fluffed by our hard working team of cooks. So we all learned that cooking can be quite tricky and things can go awry! The chocolate was probably too hot and the egg yokes immediately cooked as they touched the hot chocolate.
Thanks to Alexis, our After school director and professional chef on site, we now have a new recipe to try which does not include egg whites but uses whipped cream instead!
