Book Fairs

The library staff and parent volunteers transform the elementary school multi-purpose room and the middle school library into a book store for a week each— and 100% of the proceeds benefit the Prospect Sierra libraries.

Panther Picnic

Caring Committee

When a Prospect Sierra family is faced with a significant or unexpected need, the Caring Committee draws on an organized network within our school community to provide practical, tangible support when requested.

Celebration of the Arts

An important fundraiser for the Scholarship Endowment, this benefit features music, dancing, and food; a silent auction of student artwork and donated items; an Art Shoppe with note cards, t-shirts, journals, and other handmade gifts for sale; and a showcase for the music, drama, and arts programs at our school. It is a true community effort, with parent coordinators, teachers, students, and staff all working together.

End-of-Year Picnic

All students, kindergarten through eighth grade gather on one campus and celebrate the end of school with a picnic!

Faculty-Staff Appreciation

Prospect Sierra parents appreciate teachers and staff every day — this committee organizes an end-of-the-year party and other ways to say special thanks for their work.

Monday Munch

These once-per-grade level events provide lunch for the teachers on various Mondays throughout the year.

New Parent Outreach

Parent Association volunteers work with the Admissions Office to help new parents connect with each other and with the entire school community.

Parent Education

To help families address challenges facing them today, the Parent Education committee organizes a year-long series of seminars and discussions. Rob Evans, author of Family Matters: How Schools Can Cope with the Crisis in Childrearing, kicks off the year with a talk on Tuesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Avis.

Room Parent Coordinators

Room parents are key to communication between parents and the school, aiding teachers in recruiting parent help in the classroom, on field trips, and for many activities. Coordinators from the Parent Association help recruit and provide direction for the room parents.

Service Learning

The Parent Association recruits coordinators for the Service Learning programs at all grade levels. This important effort helps our students to learn about and address unmet needs in the wider community.

eScrip, Schoolpop, & Amazon

Parents, grandparents, and friends, please enroll in the eScrip and Schoolpop programs!

Funds raised from these programs support 1) the community-building activities listed above and 2) ) the Parent Association mini-grant program provides funds to enrich curricular and classroom projects at all grade levels.

Pizza Day & Weekly Lunches

Love to take a break from making lunches? These special lunch days help parents, delight students, and provide funds for Parent Association activities.

Parent Café

Parent Cafés are a great opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee and connect with other Prospect Sierra parents! We will also host follow-up discussions to the Parent Education Speakers.

Healthy Head Committee

This committee helps educate parents about lice and to aid in prevention, checks students for lice on scheduled days throughout the school year.
